I just saw the movie “Sideways”. All I can say is that it was a great movie in a long time. Last year I was mind numbed into watching crass and classless movies that made absolutely no sense at all. Even though I still like to watch them to get away from the real world. This movie though was a bit different than what I have seen or for that matter what I have come to like. Back to the movie, I loved the movie because it had moments of brilliance, the nice subtleties that you don’t see everyday in regular flicks. There is a scene where Paul Giamatti and Virginia Madsen are sitting together talking, and at one time both of them describe how they fell in love with wine and both of them describe it so intimately and without realizing it someone who is watching the movie is bound to see similarities in their life and what they see on the screen.
You can see it both in the writing and the specially the acting that in real life these situations exist, where if you have found someone that you can talk to and the other person actually understands what you are saying, they not only understand it but they can experience it in their mind as if saying I know exactly what you are saying and I know exactly what you are feeling even though it was only experienced by one.
Anyways there are a lot of things that I can talk about here but I am only going to encourage you to go watch the movie and not let me spoil it for you.
