True Intentions

I have always felt bad inside, whenever I see things where they are not supposed to be, or if there is something that is out of place somewhere e.g. someone begging on the roadside, or for that matter a child in the picture or on TV. You really want to do something about it. But you see as soon as it disappears from your view you tend to forget about it, rather you try to forget about it and get on with your life as if saying. He I did my bit didn't I, I gave that poor man some money and he will be alright now because he has some money, or for that matter some help has been shoveled at the "person in need". But what does it really entail, you know. How do we really help someone. Is it the same old wham bam thank you maam appraoch where you just try to help someone closest to you and you feel exonerated by the judge and jury that is the moral law of the land and that inner voice.

I am really pissed off at myself for trying to subdue that voice. I actually read somewhere that this guy who wanted to re invent himself and try to get rid of his worldly possessions just left his Porche one day with the keys in the car on a throughfare, and I started wondering can I ever do the same thing that this guy did or for that matter should I even be considering what this guy did to what I should do or could do.

I think there is a natural human tendency to compare and contrast in all instances, be it an actual competitive event or a characteristic of life, we want to be able to see where we are at with other. Very few people in this world have been able to overcome that feeling, but I digress.

Materialism has penetrated so deeply in our core that we easily convince ourselves that if we do our own part, there are going to be no repercussions or the same feeling of absolution comes over us. I say this because there are all sorts of people in this world who follow all sorts of religions but the most common thing that you will find among them is the ability to help their fellow human being.

I think that we all deep down do feel that we owe a great deal of any sort of success to this world (in very general terms), and whenever we help someone, they are just cahing in the favor that was theirs in the first palce, business concluded.

Panhandlers

Just heard about a piece that the local news was doing about panhabdlers and weather they made more money than us or not. I was apalled at the thought. I agree that there are people in this world not to say in this country that may be making a living out of begging, and some may not even be that poor. But to suggest that all the people who are begging on the street are actually not poor, is just wrong. I think that news has gone way too far (like they don't already). Beggars are people who really can't fend for themselves, most of them really are down on their luck. Would you like to go out and start begging eve if you knew that you will make enough money to support yourself.

I have heard a lot of people say this to beggars, "get a job you bum". Well I ask if he/she were to ask you "Yes, I would like to get a job, would you give me one?" I think that a lot of people won't be able to answer that.

There are so many times that I think about things that I can't so anything about. It really makes me feel helpless, and very sad

The populace

Its a common belief that there are more women than men in the world, but its almost impossible to extrapolate the same conclusion about the real life situation. I mean when men try to find someone they hit a barrier, and on the other hand when women try to find men, trust me they are hit with a wall, not an obstabcle but just a wall.

Is there any semblence to this world, or the population distribution is, well, too orchestrated (ha ha I like that word, orchestrated). Well to be honest, I have been thinking about a lot of stuff regarding relationships recently butI fear there is no single person in the near by geographical area that I can actually count as a sentient being, who would listen to my views impartially and adjudge them on an impartial basis.

Things like, do women really like cooking and working while the man just works, sleeps, and pretyt much does nothing. I talked to a friend of mine and she actually thinks that she would love to do the kind of things that are usually attributed with a woman, or a role of a woman.

Things like is there really something as love existent in this world, how do you define, it, can you define it, is its definition exclusionary (that you define it by not a process of elimination)? More to the point are people fucking with us when they say Love in first sight. There seems to be this propotional amount of misconception if my ideas are true about love in this world.

Is marriage just a legal way of prostitution or really something that binds two people in such a relationship that lasts for a while (if not all eternity).

Questions questions questions without any answer.

For books or for money

I consider myself a reader, always have and always will. I can read from historical non fiction to almost sleazy fiction. I have always considered books to be one of the best assets in the arsenal of a human being. Books to me give provide the imagination that reality can't. Books are something that I have always considered something to aspire to, something that you keep with you. Consider my love for text books, I haev saved all my textbooks since I have moved to the US.

So it shouldn't come as a surprise when I tell you guys that I visit my local bookstores regularly. But this time I spent considerable time in the bookstore and finally came to the conclusion that the current literary state of affairs of our young kids is not entirely their fault. Consider the availability of books at your local bookstore. There are books in millions almost, but out of those there are only a few that are readable. I do realize that it may be a gross generalization, but I am right.

For the past 30-40 years the importance given to the quality of material has gone down, rather than that books have been made to sing the tune of money. When children are faced with such choices, they are almost unnaturally forced to "not read". This of course is something very subjective, but I think that with books like these there will be less and less number of children reading.
