Its beginning to look a lot like 2006

Well I believe we have 2006. Yes, after a dismal year for all the teams that I have an affinity for 2006 looks like a good year for the teams. Lets start with my love "Football". Houston Texans have been busy looking for a coach. They are looking for Gary Kubiak of the Denver Broncos. Apprently he already interviewed for the job in Houston about 4 years ago when Houston first became a franchise but at that time maybe his impression on the coaches (and perhaps the fact that Denver wasn't doing so hot) wasn't that great. Anyways with the first pick in the draft and a good coach coming to Houston I think that there is room to improve. There have been many critics of David Carr, people saying that they should cut their losses now and go for Vince Young. I am not so sure that Vince Young (as athletic as he is) can hang with the big boys. I mean this is the NFL, its another thing to be Michael Vick (and even he is sidelined from time to time) and be a dual threat quarterback. He is about 5'9, 5'10, and he gets hurt when is is running. Even that with two great backs (a full, and a running). When Texans draft Vice, he will not have the same support that Vince has. Given that he can run and maybe throw, but to what extent. We want a quarterback that can be in the pocket and throw to WR's like we have. Maybe what we need is Reggie Bush, but we already have Davis. So Maybe what we should do is trade for a couple of defensive ends, LB's and a good corner back. We have Dunta and if we can get another one we could probably end the threat in the secondary. Then comes the fact that if we do have David Carr, we can have a great quarterback that can throw in the pocket, and with good protection we can be a good tean, maybe win 5-8 games next year. We have a good offense, all we need is a good defense. So I say trade down and stay with the offense. But obviously that is not going to happen. So what I see happening is getting Reggie, and maybe a trade in the 2nd round pick for a couple of 3rd, and 4th round defensive picks.

Next come the MLS team for Houston. I am so there, On Wednesday the team is going to announce the team name. I was sort of going for FC Houston 1093. But obviously the people are going to choose something really stupid (I have an idea). But I will hopefully attend some games. There are going to be some good times in Houston now. Houston Texans

Arsenal are going to need some help and Theo Walcott maybe helpful, but I am gearing up for a long time of gloom coming up in the next few years. Arsenal had a really good run but now I think Chelsea's time may have come. Man U is also doing well , and Liverpool is also great. So before long Arsenal will be in the mid order, and will take them a long time, and also a great player to get them back on track, and maybe Theo is it.

Rockets Suck! but I am sticking with them. Enough said.

Aggies have a tough year coming up. They will not only have to fight and ward off the specter of losing to their conference rivals, but they also have to boost their defense, find a good offense leader, and more than anything creativity. They need it just like a fish out of water needs water. Aggies and their game plans have gotten so old that people can guess then before they even execute. Blitzes, dropping 5, and closing on options plays was getting so old. Now that we have Stephen Mcgee in the pocket I think we may have a chance.

Then obviously come the Astros, they had a fantastic year, and it seems that they may have an okay year this year too.

So all in all I think we are ready for 2006.

A New England Year

As I watched the game between Jaguars and Patriots, it dawned on me that there again it was. The New England Mantra "be sneaky until the Playoffs, tell everyone that you are weak and an underdog and as soon as you reach the playoff, throw off that cape and don your full superhero attire and smash the enemy into thousands of pieces". Well it wasn't exactly like that but you get the picture. I just think that this is again going to be a New England year. The team that they have created seems so in tune with the playoffs that if we fail to see them in the super bowl again this year, it may seem to us an anaomaly.

I am not at all a football commentator, nor an expert but what I do see is the fire and passion in the eyes of the players. I can see that they are not regarding any of the critics when they play on the field. Thet truly let their actions speak for themselves. I have yet to see New England give hope. They have been down this road before, and although I don't know the future I am pretty sure that the Patriots are already desgining their fourth ring.
